Sefton to get ready for the future at Economic Forum

Businesses and professionals will be looking to the future at a popular event being hosted by Invest Sefton, Sefton Council’s enterprise, business support and inward investment service.

Taking place June 8, 8.00-9.30am, the Sefton Economic Forum is open to any business in Sefton and will see attendees gain insight from leaders in the field of business and journalism before learning about practical support to help them grow their own enterprises. There will be networking opportunities as well as the forum itself, which will include the following panelists:

• Tony Evans – Journalist, author and former football editor of the Times
• Peter Moore – Head of Commissioning, Sefton Council
• Rob Capleton – International Business Festival, Liverpool Vision
• Robin Tudor – Liverpool John Lennon Airport
• Q & A Session

The Forum will be chaired by Kevin Murphy, Director of Rent A Space, a Sefton based business.

The Growth Hub Marketplace following the Forum will provide an opportunity for businesses to browse a range of funded support available to businesses from Sefton Council and the wider Liverpool City Region.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Labour Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said:

“Sefton is very much open for business and ready for the future, and Sefton Council has an important role in facilitating that growth.

“One way we can help is to expose local businesses to vital experience and expertise, as well as signposting them to funding opportunities to help their businesses grow and in turn, create employment opportunities in the borough.

“The economic forum embodies the way we do this and I encourage all local businesses to sign up and take part.”
