Robert White wowed the judges and viewers alike with his fast-paced comedy routines when he made the finals on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.

He is now set to bring all that fun you saw on the TV live across the country as he announces his debut UK tour: The Tank Top Tour.

With a suitcase full of his trademark vests, Robert will be travelling the UK with his unique, musical stand-up to 31 venues between February and April 2019.

As the only gay, Aspergic, quarter-Welsh comic on the British comedy circuit, Britain’s Got Talent has helped to highlight Robert’s distinctive comedy genius.

Known for his brilliant timing and anarchic performance style, Robert’s chaotic stage presence, improvisational skills and delivery saw him win the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality.

A regular at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2010, his shows regularly impress critics and audiences alike, winning the hearts of the British public. His hilarious routines have also received over 6 million views on YouTube winning him legions of fans across the UK and beyond.

Sefton Council has teamed up with Dogs Trust to help promote its ongoing Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) across the borough.

A workshop to promote the PSPO and the Good Dog Code will take place on Wednesday, February 6 at the Bootle YMCA. The event will set out to encourage responsible dog ownership in parks, greenspaces and public highways.

During the sessions dog owners and their four-legged friends will be able to meet with members of Dogs Trust’s Campaigns team for the North of England,  as well as Green Sefton staff.

Sessions will include:

• PSPO & Good Dog Code advice
• Free healthchecks including nail clipping
• Free responsible dog ownership packs
• Free on the spot microchipping service

Cllr Ian Moncur, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “These events are a great opportunity for dog owners to find out more about our Good Dog Code and the Public Space Protection Order.

“We continue to encourage responsible dog ownership throughout the borough and would urge everyone to make sure they are aware of what this PSPO entails.

“Dog owners will also be able to get a wealth of help and information from our friends at Dogs Trust too at the sessions.”

The  event will take place at Bootle YMCA, park street L20 9AD, Wednesday, February 6, from 11am to 3pm.

Story Pocket Theatre are delighted to announce that AniMalcolm, based on the bestselling children’s book by David Baddiel, will play at The Atkinson on Friday 22 & Saturday 23 February as part of a major UK tour and following a smash-hit premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018.

Malcolm doesn’t like animals, which is a problem because his family are wild about them. In fact their house is full of pets of all shapes and sizes. The only bright spot on the horizon is the Year Six school trip, until there he is on the bus, heading to… a farm.

But on a school trip like no other, Malcolm begins to understand animals more deeply than anyone. Will he end up the same as before? Because sometimes the hardest thing to become is yourself.

A vibrant, energetic and gloriously funny musical from the award-winning Story Pocket Theatre, AniMalcolm combines physical theatre, puppetry and the company’s outstanding storytelling style to bring David Baddiel’s magical and wonderfully comic story to the stage.

David Baddiel is an award-winning comedian, author, screenwriter, director and television presenter known for his work with Newman and Baddiel, Fantasy Football, Baddiel & Skinner Unplanned and his platinum number one single Three Lions. David has written four children’s books which have now sold over one million copies, as well as four critically-acclaimed adult novels and the hit film The Infidel. David’s latest stand-up show, My Family: Not the Sitcom, premiered at the Menier Chocolate Factory before going on to run for 15 weeks in the West End.

David Baddiel said: “It has been such a thrill to see AniMalcolm brought to life on stage, and as a musical! Story Pocket have done a wonderful job with this adaptation, and it will be a real treat to see Malcolm adventuring around the UK with his menagerie of animals in tow.”

Story Pocket Theatre is a company devoted to bringing both classic and original children’s stories to the stage in a magical, inventive and exciting way. Previous productions include Michael Morpurgo’s King Arthur (Edinburgh Fringe and UK Tour) and A Pocketful of Grimms (Edinburgh Fringe and International Tour).

AniMalcolm is directed by Julia Black and Adam Fletcher-Forde with musical direction by David Perkins, set and costume design by Jacqueline Trousdale, lighting design by Declan Randall and movement direction by Shona Morris.

Sefton Council will hold a minute’s silence to mark the passing of the Mayor of Gdansk, Pawel Adamowicz.

The borough has close links with Gdansk, having been proudly twinned with the Polish city since 1993 as a result of partnership work by the Anglo-Polish Society in Southport.

A letter of condolence on behalf of the Mayor’s Office, the Leader of Sefton Council and Sefton’s Chief Executive has been sent to Mayor Adamowicz’s family ahead of a minute’s silence at the next full meeting of Sefton Council.

Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Dave Robinson, said: “The passing of Mayor Adamowicz is a terrible tragedy and my sincerest condolences go out to his family at this heartbreaking time.

“It is clear to see from the outpouring of grief that Mayor Adamowicz was an incredibly well liked member of his city and I have written to his office in Gdansk on behalf of myself and the leader of the Council to express our heartfelt sorrow for his passing.

“As Mayor Of Sefton, I have been proud to work closely with members of our fantastic Polish community to uphold the ongoing relationship with our twin city.

“I ask that all members of the council and those attending the next full meeting of Sefton Council join me in a minute’s silence in memory of Mayor Adamowicz.”

The minute’s silence will take place prior to the start of Sefton Council’s full council meeting on Thursday, January 24 at Bootle Town Hall from 6.30pm.
