Crosby Lakeside Activity Centre re-opening Friday

Crosby Lakeside Activity CentreSefton Council has confirmed that its Crosby Lakeside Activity Centre will re-open to existing members tomorrow (Friday 26th August).

Earlier this week, the Activity Centre part of the building was forced to close due to a leak caused by heavy rain.

On Friday, the Activity Centre will be open from 6.30am to 10pm and on Saturday and Sunday it will be open from 7am to 5pm. On Bank Holiday Monday, the opening hours will be 8am to 4pm.

Members

Over the weekend, the Activity Centre will only open to existing members, who will need to sign in and out of the building when arriving and leaving. Members are asked to bring purple membership bands as normal and are being reminded to store all personal in member lockers.

The fitness suite and dance studio will be open and fitness classes need to be booked online or via the other leisure centres. 

The lake will also re-open to from tomorrow for lake members only, who must also sign in at reception.  However, there will be no wet-side changing rooms available.  All lakeside courses, events and youth adventure days will remain cancelled until further notice.

Lake House

The Lake House’s new Lake Kitchen café and restaurant has not been affected by the Activity Centre closure. It is open for breakfast, day-time meals and dinner as normal, from 7am to 9:30pm Friday and Saturday and from 7am to 9pm Sunday to Thursday.

Safety

Andrea Watts, Sefton Council’s Executive Director of People said: “The health and safety of our customers and staff is always our first consideration, which is why when this week’s heavy rain leaked into the building, we closed the Activity Centre.

“I am pleased to say we are able to open safely to our members on Friday and will be open for the Bank Holiday weekend.”
