Grab a jab and a health check at Bootle Strand this Friday

An NHS pop up clinic is coming to Bootle Strand this Friday, offering COVID-19 vaccinations and a free holistic health check up for anyone in Sefton.

Residents can simply drop in to the clinic, which will be set up at a stall in the outdoor market place at The Strand Shopping Centre on Stanley Road, from 10.30am-4pm on Friday 29 July, with no need to pre-book.

Anyone is welcome to visit for a free health check up, including a blood pressure and pulse check, cholesterol and blood glucose check and find out their BMI, as well as getting any COVID-19 vaccinations they have missed so far.

The vaccines will be available for anyone who has not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19 or who has missed their second jab or first booster dose. Eligible residents who are immunosuppressed who have not yet had their spring booster can also come along to get vaccinated, and vaccines for children aged five years and older will also be available.

Jan Leonard, primary care lead for Sefton at NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, said: “We are delighted to be able to help our Sefton residents keep healthy and well by getting a free health check up while they are out and about doing their shopping in Bootle.

“The pop up clinic will also make it quick and easy for anyone to get any COVID-19 vaccines that they’ve missed so far. You don’t even need to book an appointment – just walk up to their stall.

The start of the summer holidays is a perfect opportunity for any children who missed getting their vaccine in school to grab a jab and get protected against COVID-19 before visiting family and friends or travelling abroad.”

The Strand Shopping Centre is located at 73 The Hexagon, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 4SZ and the market place is situated on Stanley Road in front of the main entrance.
