Grab a jab this week at Bootle Cricket Club
A local pop-up vaccination site is opening at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club this week, offering residents the chance to simply ‘walk in’ and get their first, second, or booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The site is opening up temporarily for three days as part of the NHS’ efforts to offer every adult a COVID-19 booster jab before the end of the year.
No appointment needed
South Sefton residents aged 18 or over can simply turn up during opening hours to get their booster jab, with no appointment needed. Residents can also walk in and get their first or second dose of the vaccine if they haven’t had them already.
The COVID-19 vaccination site will be open between 10am and 4.30pm at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club, Wadham Road, Bootle, L20 2DD, on:
- Wednesday 22 December;
- Thursday 23 December;
- Thursday 30 December.
Dr Pete Chamberlain, local GP and chair at NHS South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “NHS teams in Sefton are working as hard as they can to make sure every adult in our borough is offered the chance to book their COVID-19 booster by the end of the year.
“Some of our local vaccination sites are extending their opening hours to create more appointment slots and creating pop-up sites, such as this one at Bootle Cricket Club, so we can make it easier for our residents to get their vaccines.
“A booster jab greatly increases the protection you have against COVID-19 and getting seriously ill, so don’t delay in getting yours ahead of the upcoming holidays.”
Residents are being advised to plan ahead for their journey to the vaccination site, as parking is limited at the Cricket Club and is restricted on nearby roads.
