Borough of Culture funding applications end soon!
Due to popularity and high demand, any community group or organisation planning to apply for Borough of Culture funding now has until March 27 to do so.
Groups interested in hosting Borough of Culture themed events were asked to submit applications earlier in the year and already a raft of groups have been successful in receiving funding.
Such was the impressive response from organisations offering unique events for Sefton’s Borough of Culture year, a deadline on future applications has been agreed.
Cllr Trish Hardy, Sefton Council’s main sponsor for Borough of Culture, said: “Already we have received a wealth of applications for some really interesting events to take place in 2020 right across the borough.
“To make sure groups don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity, we are suggesting the date of March 27 as a cut-off point.
“Anyone who has not already been in touch with an application and wants to do something, please let us know and fill in the online form. Our Borough of Culture year is all about engaging with our valued communities and this is a great way of getting involved.”
Groups can still express an interest in securing support from Sefton Council with their proposals. This may include bidding for money to help them organize events throughout 2020 with two different tiers of funding available – up to £5K and £5k-£15K. It may also include support with such areas as event management, communications and marketing, or connections with other partner organisations.
Forms are available to download at www.sefton.gov.uk/sefton2020 and once completed, will be reviewed and if support is allocated, groups will be notified within 4 weeks for non-financial support and for support up to £5K and 10 weeks for £5K-£15K applications.
The Borough of Culture (BoC) title is awarded by the Liverpool City Region’s Combined Authority to one of its six local authorities (Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral) on a rotating, annual basis.
