Please be aware that the Towpath on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal between Spencers Lane and Brewery Lane, Melling will be temporarily closed due to a breach in the Canal and the requirement of emergency works.

All footpaths leading onto the Towpath at Spencers Lane, Rock Lane and Brewery Lane shall be closed as well.

It is anticipated that the closure will be in place until July 4, 2018.

Access will be maintained for Emergency Services, and wherever possible for residents.
