Bootle People’s Bureau: Skill Share Workshop
For National Libraries Week 9 – 14 October, Bootle Library is hosting the second of its Skill Exchanges and we need people to get involved.
Sharing a skill with others can help build self-esteem, improve confidence and increase mental well-being.
By coming together to exchange skills at The People’s Bureau – Skill Share workshop, attendees will help promote togetherness and help to break down isolation and loneliness. You may even make a new friend!
What practical, useful, creative or fun skills do you have? Can you share them with others? Can you crochet, read tea-leaves, juggle, dance salsa, do origami, braid hair…or something else wonderful? Or is there something you’ve always wanted to try?
The Library would like people to volunteer to run sessions lasting up to an hour and a half starting 10.30 or 1.30. Lots of fun is guaranteed.
Everyone is welcome, everything is free.
Our first Skills exchange included knitting, chapatti-making, card design, and getting online for the first time.
Sefton Libraries are supporting the ‘30 Days of Sefton In Mind’ Campaign – to spread the word about local services and activities available to people in Sefton to improve their mental health.
